My friend's G5, the big box not one of the iMacs, has died. He took it to one of the Apple stores and they said it was the logic board. He replace it with an intel iMac.
I grabbed it before he put it in the dumpster. He had pulled the graphics card, returning the original graphics card to the machine. So I am looking to see if anyone is interested in buying the graphics card. This is the one that was needed to run the large monitors on the G5.
He has 10gigs of ram (paired sticks). Any one interested in the complete box?
I thought I would post here first. If I don't hear from anyone I will see what craiglist is like. |

Just an update. My friend started having problems with the intel MacPro. He took it back to Apple, not quite a year after purchase. They said he needed to replace the battery on the logic board.
He did, and the machine's performance was like new. He got to talking to the same person .. if the battery could be the problem on the G5. It was. So I have a G5 with 6gig of ram and 320 ram, bluetooth and wireless. I have it current with Leopard. Will there be life for it with Leopard being the last OS? |
